During Compassion Week Houston 2016, Jim and Jori will be offering a free introduction on Compassionate Communication at the Hines Center for Spirituality on April 14th. Immediately following, there is an opportunity to spend 3 fun-filled days of learning and collaboration with the Manskes and fellow compassionistas! Here’s what it’s all about:
Day 1 is “Living Compassion on a Daily Basis.” Spend a day focused on practicing skills that support you in connecting with empathy and authenticity. Learn ways to recover from reactivity when life is challenging. Practice how you can respond to yourself and others in ways that addresses what really matters. Develop a plan for continuing on your path to being and acting in harmony with your values. Walk away with confidence that your life can have and sustain healthy relationships.
Day 2 is “Fueling Our Precious Need to Contribute.” Where oh where does the energy come from to contribute in meaningful ways? How can we resource ourselves so we can give what we see is so needed in the world? What does it mean to live our values and serve life? Join us to connect to your passion and energy to contribute with joy.
Day 3 is “Facilitation Skills for Everyone!” We will explore and practice strategies to support connection, efficiency, creativity and productivity while encouraging engagement and cooperative decisions. We will also use effective feedback processes that support and minimize resistance and conflict in a natural atmosphere.
A light breakfast, snacks and lunch will be provided. The food will be vegan with gluten-free options. If you are needing anything else please bring it with you.
If you need financial support in order to attend please contact Bren Hardt at email@example.com. We have ongoing volunteer opportunites as well at Houstonnvc.org.
