Ayokunle Falomo
is Nigerian & American, a poet, school psychologist, and speaker. As a storyteller, his singular mission is to use his pen as a shovel to unearth those things that make us human. He is the author of the forthcoming AFRICANAMERICAN’T (FlowerSong Press, 2022), kin.DREAD (2017) and thread, this wordweaver must! (2014).
He and his work have been featured in print (Local Houston magazine, Glass Mountain) and online (The New York Times, Houston Chronicle, Hive Society, Squawk Back, Pressure Gauge Press.) His work has also taken him to stages around and outside of Texas including TEDxHouston.
Falomo is a recipient of fellowships from MacDowell and Vermont Studio Center and is currently a Zell Postgraduate Fellow at the University of Michigan’s Helen Zell Writers’ Program where he obtained his MFA in Creative Writing — Poetry.
