Developed by Life University in Atlanta, Compassionate Integrity Training cultivates human values as skills for the purpose of increasing individual, social and environmental flourishing. It focuses on and builds toward compassionate integrity: the ability to live one’s life in accordance with one’s values with a recognition of common humanity, our basic orientation to kindness and reciprocity.

CIT is based on cutting-edge developments in the fields of neuroscience, psychology, trauma-informed care, peace and conflict studies and contemplative science. It is being used to train self-compassion, compassion for others and building compassionate systems to community leaders, peace builders, incarcerated individuals, at risk youth, and in homeless shelters and substance abuse facilities.

The complete CIT course is 10 weeks long and 20 hours in length as generally presented. In this introductory overview, Pam and Anita will present the foundational concepts and 10 skills of CIT and will offer a close-up look at Skill #1, Calming the Body and Mind.
