We are thrilled to invite you to two vibrant programs organized by Compassionate Houston’s very own Compassion Through the Arts committee. In addition to our kick-off event below, we have organized a second “Houston has heArt” program on November 18 from 5-7pm, dedicated to celebrating the power of words in poetry and the spirit of collaboration within our vibrant community. During this memorable evening, you will have the opportunity to see, hear, and meet musical and visual artists recognized as Compassionate Artists of the Year. The Alta Arts will also exhibit stunning visual art from our Compassionate Artists in its beautiful space, providing an immersive experience for art enthusiasts.
Here are some of the highlights of our kick-off event:
Join us as we witness the premiere presentation of an original song composed by Anita Kruse with Purple Songs Can Fly, exclusively for Compassionate Houston. Its heartfelt lyrics and melodies will surely touch your soul.
During the event, we will invite partners who are offering programs for Compassion Week to announce their organizations and share a few words about their offerings for the week. The gathering will also provide a unique opportunity to mingle with our partners, artists, friends, and members of our extensive network.
We will provide a selection of light refreshments and finger food ensuring that you feel nourished while enjoying the captivating performances and visual art displays and connecting with all guests in the spirit of this year’s theme on nurture and connection.
The Nurtured Community: Well-Being Through Connecting
Engage and collaborate with both, the creative community and Compassionate Houston's network of partner organizations, many of whom offer hands-on and virtual programs promoting tirelessly a culture of compassion throughout the region.
We hope that this event will inspire Houstonians to actively participate in cultivating compassion and kindness within their hearts, families, communities and beyond.
Tickets and Registration
Tickets are $15 for each of our two “Houston has heArt” programs.
Extras bonus for our partners: One (1) representative of a partner organization offering a Compassion Week program is eligible to purchase both event tickets for $15 total.
